On Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, the second meeting of the High Committee for the “Transit Roads” project was held at the Libya Africa Investment Portfolio headquarters in Tripoli.<\/p>\n

The High Committee, established by the Minister of Transportation’s Decision No. 18 of 2025, oversees and monitors all phases of two projects: the “Misurata – Tamanhint\u00a0 – Agadez Transit Road” and the “Benghazi – Kufra – Sudan Transit Road.”<\/p>\n

During the meeting, several key items were discussed, including the approval of the joint work plan prepared by the assigned task force, which detailed the duties and responsibilities of the Ministry of Transportation, Libya Africa Investment Portfolio, and the High Committee.<\/p>\n

A specific timeline was set for implementing the project phases as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. Preliminary Phase: January 10, 2025, to February 28, 2025<\/li>\n
  2. Data Collection, Review, and Classification Phase, including studies, maps, previous understandings, project commitments, and defining the consulting office’s scope of work: February 1, 2025, to May 31, 2025<\/li>\n
  3. Initial Route Determination Phase: March 1, 2025, to April 30, 2025<\/li>\n
  4. Economic and Technical Feasibility Studies Phase: June 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025<\/li>\n
  5. Investment Offering Phase: Using the “Build-Operate-Transfer” system or through partnerships with national and international companies, following the Minister of Transportation’s approval of technical and economic feasibility studies and route determinations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    During the meeting, the committee approved a comprehensive procedural guide defining tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective workflow.<\/p>\n
